Son elli yıllık basketbol yolculuğumun son dört yılında ağırlıklı olarak 17 ve 18 yaşındaki genç oyuncularla çalışma fırsatı buldum. Bu uzun tecrübe bana şunu öğretti: Bazı yetenekler yalnızca genç yaş kategorilerinde etkili olabilirken, bazı özellikler bir oyuncunun kariyeri boyunca değerini korur ve onu üst seviyelere taşır. Efe Postel'i değerlendirirken ilk dikkatimi çeken şeylerden biri sahip olduğu olumlu karakter ve çalışma disiplinidir. Yetenek önemli bir başlangıç noktasıdır, ancak profesyonel seviyeye ulaşan oyuncuları birbirinden ayıran asıl unsur, her gün gelişmeye duydukları kararlılık ve çalışma ahlakıdır. Saha içinde olduğu kadar saha dışında da çevresine saygılı, öğrenmeye açık ve takım kültürüne değer veren bir karakter sergiler. Günümüz basketbolunda bu özellikler en az teknik beceriler kadar önemlidir. Bir genç oyuncuyu değerlendirirken her zaman şu soruyu sorarım: Bugün yaptığı şeyleri profesyonel seviyede de yapabilecek mi? Fiziksel güç, atletizm ve oyunun sertliği arttığında da aynı etkinliği gösterebilecek mi? Ve en önemlisi, üst düzey bir takımın koçu ona sahada sorumluluk verecek kadar güven duyacak mı? Efe'nin en güçlü yönlerinden biri, oyunu anlama becerisi ve basketbol zekâsıdır. Karar verme kalitesi, çalışma isteği ve öğrenmeye açıklığı sayesinde oyununu sürekli geliştirmektedir. Bu da onun yalnızca genç yaş kategorilerinde değil, profesyonel seviyede de başarılı olabileceğine dair güçlü işaretler vermektedir. Yıllar boyunca çok sayıda genç oyuncuyla çalışma fırsatı buldum. Efe'yi farklı kılan şey yalnızca yeteneği değil; karakteri, dayanıklılığı, karşılaştığı zorluklara rağmen vazgeçmemesi ve sürekli gelişme arzusudur. Bu özellikler, uzun ve başarılı bir kariyer inşa etmek isteyen her oyuncuda bulunması gereken temel değerlerdir. During the last four years of my fifty-year journey in basketball, I have worked primarily with 17- and 18-year-old players. This experience has taught me that while some abilities are effective only at the youth level, certain qualities remain valuable throughout an athlete's entire career and are often what ultimately determine long-term success. When I think about Efe Postel, one of the first things that stands out is his positive character and exceptional work ethic. Talent is an important starting point, but what truly separates players who reach the professional level is their commitment to improvement and their willingness to work every single day. Efe is one of those players. Having lived and competed in different countries and basketball environments, Efe has developed a maturity and perspective that is uncommon for his age. He is respectful, open to learning, and understands the importance of team culture. In today's game, these qualities are every bit as important as technical skills and athletic ability. Whenever I evaluate a young player, I ask myself a simple question: Will the things he does today still be effective at the professional level? When the game becomes faster, stronger, and more demanding, will he still be able to make an impact? And perhaps most importantly, will professional coaches trust him enough to give him responsibility on the court? One of Efe's greatest strengths is his basketball IQ and understanding of the game. His decision-making, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement allow him to keep evolving as a player. These are qualities that translate to higher levels of competition and provide a strong foundation for a successful professional career. Over the years, I have worked with many talented young athletes. What makes Efe different is not only his ability, but also his character, resilience, and determination. He has faced challenges that would have discouraged many players, yet he has continued to move forward, improve, and pursue his goals with unwavering commitment. I believe Efe has a very bright future ahead of him. More importantly, he possesses the personal qualities that give talented players the opportunity to maximize their potential and build a long and successful career.
