Selected to represent Türkiye at the 2026 FIBA U20 European Championship in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After an outstanding preparation period, Efe earned his place in the Turkish U20 National Team entirely on merit, played in all 7 official preparation games, established himself as the starting point guard, and completed all official pre-tournament activities in Ljubljana. Only hours before the opening game, an administrative registration issue — his previous Dutch national team status still reflected in the FIBA system — made him ineligible to compete. Despite the disappointment, his first response was to tell his father: "I will do everything I can to help Turkey win this tournament." The chapter is not the end of the dream; it is the beginning of an even greater one.
